our design story

After over 10 years in the luxury design industry, Angela took the initiative to start her own business in 2014. As her firm took off and demand grew, Angela realized she needed a partner to take her company to the next level. This is where Danielle came into the picture, Angela and Danielle met by chance. They quickly realized they shared the same passion and love for design. With Danielle’s MBA and general business background, it became clear that these two were meant and ready to work together. From there, Studio Onyx was born.

Angela

Angela graduated from Harrington College of Design with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Her beginning years in the industry were spent working in the kitchen and bath space in Chicago. Following that position, she transferred to Barrington where she worked directly with a high-end custom home builder. This is where she found her passion for being a part of the entire ensign process. Angela is married and has two little girls. She loves to be on the water soaking up the sun or on the slopes with her family and friends.

Danielle

Danielle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Business. Her business background has been a great asset to Studio Onyx, while still letting her creative design side shine through. To Danielle, creating spaces that make people feel something is her driving factor in the industry. She is a firm believer that good design is anchored in the feeling it evokes. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two kids and one fur baby. She enjoys being outside and surrounded by people.
